The first book was all from a cat´s point of view, while the new one is a mixture. Cat Magick poems are more varied.
Many are hilarious, while others are like vivid portraits, full of character, spooky, wicked or tender.
Stroke Of Midnight
On the stroke
Of midnight
The hand
Of darkness
Casts a cloak
Of velvet dreams
Over the sleepers
And for all
Who are wakeful
An exquisite tenderness
Smoothes away
The wrinkles of the day
Like the paw
Of a yawning cat
Stretching, releasing
Embracing the air
Without a care
Custom Cats
Venus
Shades the vermilion sunsets,
Shapes the white feathered clouds
Obviously, she has scant time
For pigs, penguins or porcupines
Who look much the same
Like mass-produced underwear
But certain beasts
Are finely finished
Giraffes, geckos and gazelles
Among the world's creatures
That run, hop, crawl
Swim, jump or fly
One alone and only one
Is custom designed

Each kitten
A singular masterpiece
Hand painted
By Venus
Flirt
Every time a friend comes round
You break my heart
Wrapping your sinuous form
Around their shin
Tail a quivering flag
"Stroke me, I'm yours!"
Everyone
Falls for your seduction
Even the window cleaner
It's not as if
I've been seeing other cats
Well actually…wait…Gah!
Here it gets a bit
Complicated
I suppose I'll have to accept
We have an open relationship
Hidden Realm
Spored from soil
Refracted gold and silver
By sundew
Ephemeral
Hummingbird beats
Naiads, pixies and elves
Danced by breezes
Dawning in spiral mists
Woodland lore veils
An ancient domain
Plain as sky
To my cat's eye
